Quran Audio in English: Chapter 4 Women
Quran Chapter 4 - Women
In the name of God, the Kind, the Caring.
O, people: Be aware of your Lord, who created you from one soul, and from it created its mate, and from them spread countless men and women. Revere God whom you ask about, and family relationships. God watches over you.
Give orphans their possessions, don’t substitute good for bad, or consume their properties by combining them with yours; that’s a major sin.
If you're worried about being unfair to orphans — marry the women you love — two, or three, or four. If you worry about being unfair, then one, or what you already have. That way, you're more likely to avoid bias.
Give women their gifts graciously. But if they voluntarily give up some of it, take it and enjoy it as you please.
Don't give the wealth God gave you to immature people. But provide for them, clothe them, and speak kindly to them.
Assess the orphans to see if they're ready for marriage. If you find them mature enough, give them back their wealth. And don’t waste it in a hurry before they grow up. The rich shouldn’t be compensated, but the poor can charge fairly. When you hand over their wealth, have it witnessed. God is sufficient Reckoner.
Men get a share of what parents and relatives leave behind, and women get a share of what parents and relatives leave behind — whether little or much — a legal share.
If relatives, orphans, and the needy attend the distribution: offer them something and talk to them nicely.
Those concerned about the fate of their weak children, in case they leave them behind, should fear God and say appropriate words.
Those who consume the orphan's wealth consume fire in their bellies, and they'll roast in a Blaze.
God instructs you about your children: the male receives an equal share of two females. If they are daughters, more than two, they receive two-thirds of what he leaves behind. If there is only one, she gets half. As for the parents, each receives one-sixth of what he leaves behind — if he had children. If he had no children and his parents inherit from him, his mother gets a third. If he had siblings, his mother receives a sixth. After fulfilling any will or debt. Your parents and your children: you don’t know who’s more deserving. This is God’s law. God is Knowing and Judicious.
You receive half of what your wives leave behind — if they had no children. If they had children, you get a fourth of what they leave behind: after fulfilling any will or debt. They get a fourth of what you leave behind: if you have no children. If you have children, they get one-eighth of what you leave behind. After fulfilling any will or debt. If a man or a woman leaves neither parents nor children, but he had a brother or a sister, each of them gets a sixth. If there are more siblings, they share a third: after fulfilling any will or debt, without prejudice. This is a will of God. God is the Knower, the Gentle.
These are the limits set by God. Whoever obeys God and His Messenger, He will admit him into Gardens under which rivers flow, to remain there forever. That’s the great success.
But whoever disobeys God and His Messenger and exceeds His limits, He will throw him in a Fire, to remain there forever, and he will suffer humiliating punishment.
If any of your wives commit adultery, you must have four witnesses from among you against them. If they testify, confine them to their homes until death claims them, or until God opens a way for them.
If two men among you commit it, punish them both. But if they repent and reform, leave them alone. God is Redeemer Merciful.
God accepts repentance from those who commit wrongdoings out of ignorance and then repent soon after. These — God will accept their repentance. God is the Knower, the Wise.
Repentance is not accepted from those who commit wrongs, until, when death approaches one of them, he says, “Now I repent,” nor from those who die unbelievers. These — We prepared for them a painful punishment.
O you who believe! It’s not lawful to inherit women against their will. Don't force them to take back anything you've given them — unless they commit outright adultery. Live with them in kindness. If you happen to dislike them, you may dislike something in which God placed much good.
And if you want to take one wife instead of another: Even if you gave one of them a fortune, don’t take anything back. Will you take it back fraudulently and sinfully?
How could you take it back, after having enjoyed each other's intimacy and they received from you a solemn commitment?
Don’t marry the women your fathers married, except what has already happened. It’s inappropriate, indecent, and has bad consequences.
You are forbidden your mothers, your daughters, your sisters, your paternal aunts, your maternal aunts, your brother's daughters, your sister's daughters, your nursing mothers who breastfed you, your sisters through breastfeeding, your wives' mothers, and your daughters-in-law who are under your guardianship — born of wives you’ve entered — but if you haven’t entered, there's no blame on you. And the wives of your genetic sons, and marrying two sisters simultaneously — except what has already happened. God is Forgiving and Merciful.
And all married women, except those you legitimately have. These are God’s commandments, binding on you. Those outside these boundaries are permitted for you, provided you seek them in lawful marriage, with gifts of your property, seeking marriage, not prostitution. If you wish to enjoy them, give them their bridal gifts — a legal obligation. You commit no error by agreeing to change the bridal gifts. God is the All-Knowing and All-Wise.
If a person can't afford to marry free believing women, he can marry believing maids under your control. God knows all about your faith. You are one of the other. Marry them with their guardians’ permission and give them their rightful allowances — to be protected — not committing adultery or taking secret lovers. If they commit adultery after marriage, their punishment is half that of free women. This is for those of you who fear falling into decadence. But practicing self-restraint is better for you. God is Forgiving and Kind.
God intends to make things clear to you, and to guide you in the ways of those before you, and forgive you. God is Aware and Wise.
God intends to accept your repentance, but those who pursue their lusts want you to deviate far from the path.
God intends to lighten your burden — the human being was created weak.
O you who believe: don’t consume the wealth of others dishonestly, but trade by mutual consent. And don’t kill yourselves. God is Merciful to you.
Whoever does that out of hostility and wrongdoing, We will throw him in a Fire. And that’s easy for God.
If you avoid the forbidden major sins, We'll erase your misdeeds and admit you through a Gate of Honor.
Don’t desire what God favors others with. Men get a share of what they’ve earned, and women get a share of what they’ve earned. Ask God for a share of His favor. God knows everything.
What parents and loved ones leave behind, We appointed beneficiaries for them. And those whom your right hands have contracted, give them their share. God Witnesses everything.
Men are the protectors of women, as God gave some advantage over others, and because they spend their wealth. Good women are loyal. They protect, as God expects them to protect. Those whose misbehavior you fear, warn them, then leave them in the beds, then discipline them. If they obey you, seek no means against them. God is the Most High, the Greatest.
If you fear hostility between the two, appoint a mediator from his family and a mediator from hers. If they wish to be reconciled, God will restore harmony between them. God is the Knower, the Expert.
Worship God and associate nothing with Him. And be kind to parents, relatives, orphans, the poor, the near neighbor, the distant neighbor, close friends, the traveler, and your servants. God doesn’t like the arrogant show-off.
Those who are stingy, tell others to be stingy, and they hide the favors God bestowed on them. We prepared for the unbelievers a humiliating punishment.
Those who spend their money to show off, and don’t believe in God and the Last Day. Whoever takes Satan as a friend — what a bad friend.
What would they have lost, if they had believed in God and the Last Day, and donated from what God gave them? God knows them well.
God never commits an atom's weight of injustice. And if there is a good deed, He multiplies it, and He gives an immense reward.
How will it be: when We bring a witness from each community, and We bring you as a witness against these?
On that day, the unbelievers who disobeyed the Messenger will wish the earth was leveled with them. They won’t be able to hide from God what they said.
O you who believe: don’t pray drunk, until you know what you say; nor after sex — unless you're traveling — before you have washed. If you're sick, traveling, have relieved yourself, had sex with women, and can’t find water, rinse with clean sand: wipe your face and forearms. God is Pardoner, Forgiver.
Haven’t you seen those who received a part of the Book? They buy misguidance and wish you to stray from the path.
But God knows your enemies. God is sufficient Protector and Helper.
Some Jews take words out of context, saying, “We hear and disobey,” and “We hear without listening,” and “Observe us.” Twisting with their tongues and insulting the religion. If they had said, “We hear and obey,” and “Let’s listen,” and “Give us your attention,” it would have been better for them and more proper. But God deprives them of His Kindness because of their unbelief. Only a few of them believe.
O you who received the Scripture: Believe in what We revealed. It confirms what you have: before We obliterate faces and turn them inside out, or curse them as We cursed the Sabbath people. God’s command is always carried out.
God doesn’t forgive associating with Him, but He forgives anything less than that to whomever He wills. Whoever associates with God has invented a serious sin.
Haven’t you seen those who claim purity for themselves? Instead, God purifies whom He wills, and they won’t be mistreated at all.
See how they make up lies about God. That in itself is flagrant sin.
Haven’t you seen those who received a part of the Book? They believe in superstition and evil powers, and they say of unbelievers, “These are better guided than believers.”
God cursed them. Whoever God curses, you’ll find no helper for him.
Or do they have a share of sovereignty? If they did, they wouldn't give people a speck.
Or do they envy people for what God gave them of His grace? We gave Abraham’s family Scripture, wisdom, and a vast kingdom.
Some believed in it, and others kept away from it. Hell is enough Inferno.
Those who reject Our communications: We'll scorch them in a Fire. Whenever their skins are cooked, We'll replace them with other skins, so that they taste suffering. God is Mighty and Wise.
As for the believers who do good deeds: We'll admit them to gardens with rivers flowing beneath them, to remain there forever. They'll have pure spouses, and We'll admit them to abundant shade.
God commands you to return trusts to their owners, and when you judge between people, to judge with justice. God’s instructions to you are excellent. God is Listener and Seer.
O you who believe: obey God, obey the Messenger, and those of you in authority. If you disagree on anything, refer it to God and the Messenger: if you believe in God and the Last Day. That’s the best solution.
Haven’t you seen those who claim to believe in what was revealed to you, and in what was revealed before you, but who seek tyrannical sources of legislation, even though they were ordered to reject them? Satan wants to drag them far away.
When they’re told, “Come to what God revealed, and to the Messenger,” you see the hypocrites avoiding you altogether.
But when a disaster strikes them because of what they did, they come to you, swearing by God: “We only intended goodwill and harmony.”
God knows what’s in their hearts. So forgive them, counsel them, and speak eloquently to them; so that it may penetrate their minds.
We didn’t send any messenger but to be obeyed, as God commanded. If, when they mistreated themselves, they had come to you, praying for God's forgiveness, and the Messenger prayed for their forgiveness, they would've found God Relenting and Kind.
By your Lord, they’re not believers until they make you judge in their disputes, and accept your decision without reservation, and fully commit themselves.
If We had commanded them: “Give up your lives,” or, “Leave your homes,” only a few of them would have done so. If they had done what they were told, it would have been better for them, and a more solid basis.
Then We would've given them a great reward.
And We would've guided them to a straight path.
Whoever obeys God and the Messenger is with those whom God favors: the prophets, the sincere, the witnesses, and the righteous. What an excellent fellowship!
That’s God's grace. God is All-sufficient, the Knower.
O you who believe: take precautions and mobilize in groups — or mobilize together.
Some of you are lagging. When you suffer a setback, he says, “It's God’s favor for me that I wasn’t martyred with them.”
But when God favors you — as if there was no love between you and him — he says, “If only I were with them, I would have achieved a great victory.”
Let those who sell this life for the Hereafter fight in God’s path. Whoever fights in God’s path, and then is killed, or he achieves victory, We'll give him a great reward.
Why wouldn't you fight in God’s path while helpless men, women, and children cry out: “Our Lord, save us from this city of cruel people, and give us a protective helper.”
Believers fight in God's path, but unbelievers fight in the path of transgressors. So fight Satan’s allies. Satan’s cunning is weak.
Didn’t you see those who were told, “Restrain your hands, pray, and give charity?” But when they were ordered to fight, a group of them feared people as God should be feared, or even more. And they said, “Our Lord, why did You order us to fight? Couldn’t you have postponed it a little?” Say, “The pleasures of this life are few, while the Hereafter is much better for the righteous, and you won’t be mistreated at all.”
Wherever you are, death will overtake you, even if you were in fortified towers. When something good happens to them, they say, “This is from God.” But when something bad happens to them, they say, “It's from you.” Say, “It’s all from God.” What’s the matter with these people that they hardly understand what they’re told?
All the good that happens to you is from God. And all the bad that happens to you is from yourself. We sent you as a messenger to people, and God is a sufficient witness.
Whoever obeys the Messenger obeys God. And whoever turns away — We didn’t send you as their guardian.
They say, “We will obey.” But when they leave your presence, a group of them spend the night plotting against what you said. But God records what they plot. So ignore them and trust in God. God is an adequate protector.
Don’t they ponder over the Quran? If it came from someone other than God, they would've found many contradictions in it.
When a message of war or peace reaches them, they broadcast it. If they had referred it to the Messenger and to those in authority, those who can interpret it would have understood it. Without the grace and kindness of God on you, most of you would've followed Satan.
So fight in the path of God — you're responsible only for yourself. And encourage the believers. Perhaps God will curb the power of the unbelievers. God is greater in power and stricter in punishment.
Whoever speaks out for a good cause shares in its benefits. And whoever speaks out for a bad cause shares in its burdens. God watches over everything.
When someone greets you, respond with a better greeting, or return his greeting. God keeps track of everything.
God — there's no other god but Him. He will gather you on Resurrection Day — there's no doubt about that. Who's more true in words than God?
What’s the matter with you, divided into two groups over the hypocrites, when God Himself overpowered them for what they did? Do you want to guide those whom God misguided? Whomever God misguides — you won't find a way for him.
They would like you to disbelieve, as they disbelieve, so that you may become equal. So don’t befriend any of them unless they emigrate in God’s path. If they turn away, seize them and execute them wherever you find them. And take none of them as an ally or helper.
Except those who are related to people with whom you have a treaty, or who come to you because their hearts hesitate to fight against you or their own people. If God had so willed, He would have given them power over you, and then they would have fought against you. If they withdraw, and don’t fight against you, and offer you peace, then God gives you no excuse against them.
Others want to be on good terms with you and their people. But whenever they're tempted by civil discord, they plunge into it. If they don’t withdraw, offer you peace, or cease their hostility, seize them and execute them wherever you find them. We gave you explicit permission against these people.
It’s forbidden for a believer to kill another believer, except by accident. Anyone who accidentally kills a believer must set free a believing captive, and pay compensation to the victim’s family — unless they waive it as charity. If the victim belonged to a people hostile to you, but is a believer, then the compensation is to set free a believing captive. If he belonged to a people with whom you have a treaty, payment must be given to his family and free a believing captive. Those who can't afford it must fast for two consecutive months, as repentance to God. God is Knower and Wise.
Whoever willingly kills a believer, his penalty is Hell, where he'll remain forever. And God’s wrath and curse fall on him, and He prepared for him terrible suffering.
O you who believe: when you set out in God’s path, be careful. If someone greets you in peace, don’t say, “You're not a believer,” desiring worldly gains. God has abundant riches. That's how you used to be, and God favored you — so be open and honest. God is aware of what you do.
The believers who stayed behind — except the physically or financially incapable — aren’t equal to those who strive with their lives and wealth in God’s path. God favors the strivers with their wealth and lives, above the inactive, to some extent. But God promises goodness to both. Yet God favors the strivers, over the inactive, with an excellent reward.
High ranks from Him, forgiveness, and mercy. God is Forgiving and Merciful.
While the angels take away the souls of those who mistreated themselves, they will ask, “What was the matter with you?” They will answer, “We were weak and vulnerable in the land.” They will ask, “Wasn’t God’s earth vast enough for you to emigrate?” These: their housing is Hell, a horrible destination.
Except the oppressed among men, women, and children, who don’t have the means to act, and can’t find a way out.
These — God may well pardon them. God is Pardoning and Forgiving.
Whoever emigrates in God’s path will find many shelters and abundance on earth. Whoever leaves his home, emigrating to God and His Messenger, and is overtaken by death, his compensation falls on God. God is Forgiving and Kind.
When traveling in the land, you may shorten the prayer without feeling guilty: if you fear being attacked by the unbelievers. The unbelievers are your apparent enemies.
When you’re among them, leading them in prayer, let a group of them stand with you, carrying their weapons. Then, when they've done their prostrations, let them withdraw to the rear, and let another group, who haven't prayed yet, come forward and pray with you; and let them take their precautions and weapons. The unbelievers would like you to neglect your weapons and equipment, so that they can attack you in a single assault. If you suffer from rain or illness, you don't make a mistake by laying down your weapons; but take precautions. God prepared for the unbelievers a humiliating punishment.
When you've finished praying, remember God — standing, sitting, or on your sides. Then, when you feel safe, say the prayer. The prayer is a duty of believers at certain times.
Don’t hesitate to pursue the enemy. If you suffer, they suffer as you do. But you expect from God what they can’t expect. God is All-Knowing and Wise.
We revealed to you the Book, which holds the truth, so that you may judge among people as God has shown you. And don’t support traitors.
Ask God for forgiveness. God is Forgiving and Merciful.
Don't plead for those who deceive themselves. God doesn’t love the deceitful sinner.
They hide from people, but they can’t hide from God. He's with them, while they plan with words He disapproves. God understands what they do.
There you are, defending them in this worldly life, but who will defend them against God on Resurrection Day? Or who will be their advocate?
Whoever works evil or wrongs himself, then asks God for forgiveness, will find God Forgiving and Merciful.
Whoever sins earns it against himself. God is Knowing and Wise.
Whoever commits a mistake or a sin, and blames an innocent, has committed slander and blatant sin.
If it weren’t for God's mercy and kindness towards you, a group of them would have misled you. But they only mislead themselves, and they can’t harm you in any way. God revealed to you the Book and Wisdom, and He taught you what you didn’t know. God’s favor to you is great.
There is nothing good in most of their secret meetings, except when they advocate charity, kindness, or reconciliation between people. Whoever does this, seeking God’s approval: We'll give him a great reward.
After the guidance was made clear, whoever opposes the Messenger and follows other than the believers’ path: We'll lead him in his chosen direction and commit him to Hell — a terrible destination.
God doesn't forgive associating others with Him, but He forgives anything less than that to whomever He wills. Whoever associates others with God has gone far astray.
They invoke only females in His place. They only call a rebellious devil.
God cursed him. He said, “I'll take my share of Your servants.”
“And I'll mislead them, and I'll entice them, and I'll make them slit the ears of cattle, and I'll make them change God’s creation.” Whoever takes Satan as his master instead of God has suffered an evident loss.
He promises them and gives them hope. But Satan promises them only deception.
These: Their home is Hell, and they won’t escape it.
Those who believe and do good works: We'll admit them into Gardens under which rivers flow, where they'll remain forever. God’s promise is true. What words are more accurate than God's?
It’s not according to your wishes, nor according to the wishes of Bible-People. Whoever works evil will pay for it, and will find no protector or helper besides God.
But whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, and is a believer — these will enter Paradise, and they won’t be mistreated at all.
Who's better in religion than the one who submits completely to God, is a doer of good, and follows the faith of Abraham the Monotheist? God took Abraham as a friend.
Everything in the heavens and on earth belongs to God. God surrounds everything.
They consult you about women. Say, “God instructs you about them — in addition to what's recited to you in the Book — about female orphans from whom you withhold what's prescribed to them, and whom you wish to marry, and about helpless children: treat orphans justly.” Whatever good you do, God knows it.
If a woman fears mistreatment or neglect by her husband, there's no blame on them to reconcile their differences. Reconciliation is best. But people tend to be selfish. If you're righteous and thoughtful — God is aware of what you do.
You won't be able to treat women equally, even if you try your best. But don’t lean so much towards one, and you leave the other suspended. If you reconcile and act righteously: God is Forgiving and Merciful.
If they separate, God will provide for each from His abundance. God is Vast and Wise.
Everything in the heavens and on earth belongs to God. We commanded you and the Bible-People before you: be conscious of God. But if you refuse — everything in heaven and on earth belongs to God. God is, without need, worthy of praise.
Everything in the heavens and on earth belongs to God. God is enough as a manager.
If He wills, He can make you disappear, O people, and bring others. God can do it.
Whoever wants the reward of this life — God has the reward of this life and the next. God is Listener and Observer.
O you who believe: Be God's witnesses for justice, even if it’s against yourselves, your parents, or your loved ones. Whether someone is rich or poor, God takes care of both. So don’t follow your desires instead of being just. If you distort or refuse — God is Aware of what you do.
O you who believe: Believe in God and His Messenger, and the Book He revealed to His Messenger, and the Book He revealed before. Whoever rejects God, His angels, His Books, His messengers, and the Last Day has clearly gone far astray.
Those who believe, then disbelieve, then believe, then disbelieve, then increase in disbelief: God won’t forgive them, nor will He guide them to a path.
Inform the hypocrites that they’ll have a painful punishment.
Those who take unbelievers as allies rather than believers. Do they seek glory in them? All glory be to God.
He revealed to you in the Book: If you hear God’s verses being rejected or ridiculed, don’t sit with them until they turn to another subject. Otherwise, you're like them. God will gather the hypocrites and the unbelievers into Hell altogether.
Those who wait to see what happens to you. If you achieve victory from God, they say, “Weren't we with you?” But if the unbelievers succeed, they say, “Didn’t we side with you, and We defended you against the believers?” God will judge between you on Resurrection Day. God won't give unbelievers means to overcome believers.
Hypocrites try to deceive God, but He leaves them to their deception. When they stand up for prayer, they do it lazily, only to be seen by people, and they remember God a little.
Swinging between: neither with these nor with those. He whom God allows to stray: you won't find a way for him.
O you who believe: don’t take unbelievers instead of believers for your allies. Do you want to give God a clear case against you?
The hypocrites will be in the lowest depths of the Fire, and you’ll find no helper for them.
Except those who repent, reform, cling to God, and devote their faith entirely to Him. These are with the believers. God will give believers a great reward.
What would God accomplish by punishing you; if you're grateful and faithful? God is Appreciative, the Knower.
God doesn't like for people to speak foul language — unless someone was mistreated. God is Listener and Knower.
Whether you do good openly, conceal it, or forgive an offense — God is Forgiving and Capable.
Those who deny God and His messengers, and seek to separate between God and His messengers, and say, “We believe in some and reject others,” and wish to pursue a path in between.
These are the unbelievers. We prepared for the unbelievers a humiliating punishment.
Those who believe in God and His messengers and make no distinction between them — He will reward them. God is Forgiving, Most Kind.
The Scripture-People challenge you to bring them a book from the sky. They asked Moses for something even more significant. They said, “Show us, God, plainly.” Lightning struck them because of their rudeness. Then they adopted the calf after they received clear signs. Yet, We forgave them for that. We gave Moses clear authority.
According to their covenant, We raised the mountain above them, and We said, “Bend down when you pass through the gate.” And We told them not to violate the Sabbath. And We received from them a solemn promise.
But because they violated their covenant, denied God’s revelations, unjustly killed the prophets, and said, “Our minds are closed.” In fact, God sealed them because of their unbelief — so they don’t believe, except for a few.
And because of their lack of faith, and because they said a terrible slander against Mary.
And because they said, “We killed Jesus Christ, son of Mary, the Messenger of God.” In fact, they didn’t kill him, nor did they crucify him, but it appeared to them so. Those who disagree about him doubt it. They know nothing about it, but they just follow speculations. They certainly didn’t kill him.
In reality, God raised him to Himself. God is Mighty and Wise.
All the Scripture-People will believe in him before he dies. And on Resurrection Day, he will be a witness against them.
Because of the misdeeds of the Jews, We forbade some of the good things that were lawful for them — and because they led many away from God’s path.
And because they took usury, although it's forbidden. And because they squander people’s wealth. We prepared for the faithless among them a painful punishment.
But those of them steadfast in knowledge, and the believers, believe in what was revealed to you and in what was revealed before you. Those who observe the prayers, do charity, believe in God and the Last Day: We'll give them a great reward.
We inspired you, as We inspired Noah and the prophets after him. And We inspired Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Patriarchs. And Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and Solomon. And We gave David the Psalms.
Some messengers We told you about, and others We didn’t tell you about. God spoke to Moses in a conversation.
Messengers who bring good news and give warnings, so that people have no excuse before God after the coming of the messengers. God is Mighty and Wise.
God Himself testifies to what He revealed to you. He revealed it with His knowledge. The angels also testify. Yet God is a sufficient Witness.
Those who reject and prevent others from following God’s path have gone far astray.
Those who disbelieve and do evil — God won’t forgive them, nor will He guide them on a path.
Except on the path of Hell, where they'll remain forever. That’s easy for God.
O, people: The Messenger has come to you with the truth from your Lord, so believe: it’s better for you. If you don’t believe, everything in the heavens and on earth belongs to God. God is All-Knowing and Wise.
O Bible-People: don't exaggerate in your religion, and always tell the truth about God. Jesus Christ, son of Mary, is the Messenger of God, and His Word that He conveyed to Mary, and a Spirit of Him. So believe in God and His messengers, and don't say, “Trinity.” Refrain for your own good. God is one God. Glory to Him — that He would have a child. Everything in the heavens and on earth belongs to Him. God is a sufficient protector.
Christ didn’t refuse to be a servant of God, nor did the near angels. Those who refuse His worship and are too proud: He will bring them to Himself, all together.
Those who believe and do good deeds: He will pay them their rewards in full, and He will give them more of His grace. But as for those who refuse and are too proud: He will punish them painfully, and they will find no protector or helper other than God.
O, people: clear evidence has come to you from your Lord. And We sent you a bright light.
Those who believe in God and cling to Him: He will admit them to His mercy and grace, and He will guide them to Him on a straight path.
They consult you. Say, “God teaches you about the person who has no parents or children. If a man dies childless and had a sister, she gets half of his estate. And he inherits from her if she's childless. But if there are two sisters, they receive two-thirds of the estate. If the siblings are men and women, the male receives the share of two females.” God explains this so that you don’t make mistakes. God knows everything.
